Caroline Alden was injured on the 01 November 1940 at 18/144 Guildford Street, Lozells. We have no records to confirm this was a fatal injury.

General Hospital West Midlands Police Records Raid 30 - 1st November 1940 (Morning) Air Raid Warning Red received at 3.5 a.m. Friday and Raiders passed at 5.25 a.m. same day. 15 High Explosive bombs were dropped 2 of which were reported unexploded. Incendiary bombs were dropped and caused 2 incidents. The first report of a bomb being dropped was received at 3.15 a.m. The districts chiefly affected were Aston and Duddeston. Casualties - 1 fatal and 15 non-fatal. One important place, Messrs Verity’s, Plume Street, Aston was slightly damaged by fire. 8 other factories were involved. One High Explosive exploded on the railway lines near Vauxhall Passenger Station. 4 sets of rails were damaged, and the station itself was damaged and was closed. All services were suspended. Other damage: A Division - River and Fazeley Streets (3) (4 canal barges); D Division - HP Sauce, Tower Street, Dobson and Crowder, Aston Road North (fires); E Division - Heathmill Lane, Maxstoke Street, St. Andrews, Keeley Street (3). West Midlands Police Records Raid 31 - 1st November 1940 (Night) Air Raid Warning Red was received at 7.24 p.m. and White at 9.29 p.m. A further Red was received at 10.11 p.m. and a White message at 10.55 p.m. No bombs were dropped during the latter period. The first report of bombs dropping was at 7.30 p.m. 4 High Explosive bombs fell in the Lozells district, and a number of Incendiary Bombs caused about 21 incidents in the Witton district. No factories were damaged but a number of houses were demolished. The major incidents occurred when a High Explosive bomb exploded in Guildford Street, demolishing about 16 back to back houses and a number of people were trapped in the cellars under the debris, after which a fire broke out above them. In another incident in Hampton Road 2 houses were demolished resulting in several fatal casualties. A Midland Red Omnibus was also hit when in Birchfield Road, but no serious injury resulted. Total casualties - 29 fatal and 6 non-fatal. Birchfield Road, between Six Ways and Chain Walk, was closed to traffic due to a crater in the road. During the night a sandbag partition collapsed in a basement shelter under the Hangar Motor Company, Tennant Street, Ladywood, and in the morning it was ascertained that 3 male Indians, a Jew and Jewess were buried underneath it, and fatally injured.
